Pluto in your 4th house

Updated: Feb 2, 2022

*You can find out what house Pluto is in for you by visiting....free-horoscope.com

"Recognizing and honoring your sensitivity and emotional depth. Able to ground yourself and respond (rather than react) in emotionally charged situations. The ability to care, nurture and hold energetic space for others to authentically express and expand. Guide others to discover their own emotional balance. Intensely loyal. Fully embodying your masculine and feminine energy."

The 4th house is associated with the sign of Cancer. I often think of the crab symbolism here, with its exoskeleton (protection), pincher claws (don't come too close…unless I want you to), and the whole walking sideways thing (unique movement + speed and efficiency). Most types can also live on land or water (grounding and emotions) and have two pairs of antennae (think keen perception and intuition).

With Pluto here, this is a new evolutionary cycle for you. Coming out of the 3rd house where exploring, learning, and communicating were high on the list, we move to the 4th where there is a need to create a strong emotional foundation within. Tapping into the depths of your feelings, moods, and emotions. Some with this placement will have already experienced some of the extremes of this energy in other lives and will be born into families and situations that are fully supportive. Very self-aware and use this foundation to make an impact on society.

However, since this is a new cycle, most people with this placement will be navigating experiences of not having their emotional needs met during childhood or unconscious memories of difficult experiences with family members in other lifetimes.

When we are born and up to the point where we start to develop enough self-awareness and freedom, we are vulnerable and dependent on our caregivers. Imprinted by the emotional state of mom, dad, or caregivers at the time of birth as well as unprocessed or unfulfilled emotional needs from ancestry. Anything that was not "in balance", our soul has signed up to experience and transform.

If you are in the majority here, you may have had (or may have) some intense experiences to navigate. That said, everyone involved in these dynamics has "agreed" to explore these energies for their own soul's evolution, no matter how difficult. These agreements are all based on love. The evolutionary intent is to get to a place of objectivity, understanding, acceptance, and gratitude for yourself and everyone involved. Navigating to emotional security within, setting healthy boundaries, and creating an internal home that will allow the right people and environments to form. Knowing that your soul's purpose for this lifetime is directly tied to processing and transforming these.

Below are some childhood relationship dynamics that are possible that may repeat in some form or fashion in your close relationships throughout life until they are realized, processed, and integrated….

-A parent/caregiver that (consciously or unconsciously) sets up a "need to be needed" environment. A codependent relationship where you feel restricted, smothered, or are made to feel like you need this person in your life, or everything will fall apart.

-Emotionally unavailable parent/caregiver/partner or absent parent(s). Think of a childhood where you were left to your own devices a lot, needing to take care of yourself or siblings.

-Not feeling safe expressing your emotions. Maybe reprimanded when you did?

-Being put down or ridiculed.

-An innate fear of being vulnerable (possible imprint from other lifetimes).

If you've experienced one (or some) of the scenarios above, maybe you have attracted relationships in your life that mirrored these dynamics? If so, an external manifestation of the emotional imprinting that is still present from these experiences.

Being able to objectively examine the dynamics within your family and your own relationships is super important here. Especially times that were emotionally charged or caused feelings of rejection, abandonment, power dynamics, shame, unworthiness, non-transparency, or restriction. Realizing, processing, and transforming these will have a deep impact not only on your own life but your entire family/ancestry. It's possible that as you move into greater inner alignment, it becomes essential to distance yourself from family members/caregivers who were part of your upbringing if they aren't self-aware. This distancing or removal, protecting yourself and allowing them the opportunity for self-reflection and growth.

As is also the case with a natal Pluto placement in the 10th house, this could also indicate a recent gender switch. Maybe your soul has explored all that it could as a male and so it's time for a female expression. How you experience this will vary depending on how "new" the switch is. Using the male-to-female example, if you've already had some experience as a female, this may not impact you as much. If this is new, it's possible you may carry more masculine energy. Maybe this can help explain thoughts, feelings, or expressions that you have that are predominantly identifiable with the opposite sex. If you have some "wrapping up" to do as a male, a gender switch is possible as well. Other indicators in the chart can give some more clues.

The polarity and evolutionary path here is to embrace Capricorn/10th house energy. Fully understanding, acknowledging, and eliminating projections (from yourself and others towards you) when it comes to feelings, moods, and emotions. Being able to supply your own emotional needs, tapping into intuition/bodily cues, and minimize external dependencies. Using this strong foundation to be able to leave your own unique mark on society. Often, your career or how you contribute to society will aid in working through emotional blockages or your contribution may be to guide others who are working through the same experiences you have. The master of emotions!

Refer to the article here on Pluto generational descriptions to find which you are a member of to learn what mode of operation you've chosen for this lifetime. As always, there are many other factors that play into how this energy is experienced individually.
