"Innate wisdom. Natural teachers. The soul's desire to explore (ways of living, philosophy/religion, the world). Laughing at yourself and others. Sensing/feeling supporting energies, imagination & expansion."
In the 8th house, there was a sense of larger forces beyond the 5 senses. It prompted the desire to merge deeply with others and explore concepts and topics that aren't commonly discussed or explored in society. Things like this article :), esoteric subjects/topics, sex, death, power dynamics, psychology…etc.
Here in the 9th house, there is a need to define these larger forces. Aligning with, exploring, learning/gaining wisdom which explains why you are here…on this planet… in this body. What is your purpose? What is beyond the 5 senses?
Some with this placement will feel, sense, and be able to form a clear explanation of Truth for themselves or help others to find theirs. Incarnating into environments (parents/caregivers/society) that are fully supportive of their continued evolution. Gaining wisdom from experience, learning, and intuitive downloads. Ability to teach/guide others.
With a Pluto placement here, your soul has been exploring many different ways of defining reality. So, let's drop into another lifetime and take a look around…
We are in Italy, and you are part of a family/culture where reality is defined by the parameters of Roman Catholicism. Church services, bible study, and following the teachings/directives of the Pope were Truth. As you grew older, you began to question some of what was being taught. You sensed there was more to what was being defined by this religion and your current reality. You end up connecting with someone who is visiting your town from Asia who practices Buddhism. You are intrigued by their culture and beliefs and have a desire to explore them further. Despite the disapproval of friends, family, and society, you are off to Asia!
It was difficult leaving behind the world you knew and those that were a big part of your upbringing, but this change of scenery was necessary for your soul. The Buddhist traditions have helped to expand your awareness and the Asian culture has been enriching. Eventually, you notice that old familiar feeling creeping in once again... I feel there is more!
Back to this lifetime, where you are born to a hard-working family in Portugal. Your father was constantly traveling for work and your mom worked as a manager at a popular restaurant. There was no specific religious alignment, but your family had strong beliefs in terms of working hard, respecting your family members, and consistently contributing to the well-being of those close to you. You spend most of your time when you were younger helping with keeping things in order at home, taking care of siblings, and the restaurant. As you got older, you began feeling restricted and energetically drained. In your teens, you connect online with someone who lives in the United States and soon become best friends. In your early 20s, you plan a trip to see them. You guessed it ;) You love it and are off to live in the US! While there, your friend mentions a tarot reader that she knows who is excellent. It sparks your curiosity. You book your first reading which turns out to be profound. They are able to validate some visions that you've had while growing up and help you understand the ability you have to tap into your higher self/supporting energies. You purchase a new tarot deck and begin to work with the messages you are receiving. A whole new world is opened, and your understanding of existence is completely changed.
Maybe "Go Your Own Way" by Fleetwood Mac or "Follow Your Arrow" by Kacey Musgraves resonate with you? Possibly feeling like a lone wolf. Needing to be untethered. Exploring places far and wide in order to experience, learn and assemble your own Truth. Experiencing different ways of living and cultures. I think of those with this placement having desires to visit places that you lived or visited in other lifetimes. That may explain the childhood fascination you've had with Asia, but couldn't explain why ;)
Of course, with Pluto, there is the experience of extremes. Think of overidentification with a belief system. Aligning with or establishing your own religion/philosophy to the point where you consider this perspective a universal Truth for all. Not being able to accept or acknowledge other perspectives/beliefs. Another possibility could be this or other lifetimes where you felt disempowered by others' beliefs. Think of those earlier years in Portugal lasting a lifetime or time periods in history when the rules/structure set forth by parents, society, or religion didn't allow for full personal expression.
Maybe you have visions of the future (yourself or the collective), visions that manifest from desires of the unconscious, or messages coming in through sleep/meditation? Experiencing layers of sensations/feelings/information which you may struggle to express in common language.
The polarity energy to embrace here is Gemini/3rd house. Listening, learning, and having an appreciation for others' points of view and perspectives. Not feeling a need to convert others to your point of view. Being curious and open. Attracting others who will assist in communicating what you can sense or feel. Being able to bridge the seen and unseen. Guiding others to discover their own Truth.
